LA County Celebrates “Second Chance Month” and “Reentry Week”

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors recently proclaimed April 2024 as “Second Chance Month,” and April 22 – April 27 as “Reentry Week” in Los Angeles County. In honor of these proclamations, LA County’s Justice, Care and Opportunities Department (JCOD), in collaboration with County and community partners, will host resource fairs, meet-and-greets and grand opening ceremonies in all five Supervisorial districts during the month of April.

The Second Chance Month events are an opportunity for justice-involved individuals and their families to learn about available and forthcoming resources from JCOD and community-based organizations in their area. JCOD offers an array of reentry services, including employment assistance, housing, substance use counseling and much more. Additionally, the LA County Public Defender’s Office will be hosting a series of Expungement Clinics throughout the month.
