Vital Records

The Office of Vital Statistics and Registry registers vital events and maintains the following vital records:

  • Birth records from 1923 to present
  • Marriage records from 1941 to present
  • Death records from 1941 to present
  • Domestic partnership records from 2004
  • Civil union records from 2007
  • Certificate of birth resulting in stillbirth from 1969
  • Adoption records - foreign and domestic

Women, Infants & Children (WIC)

WIC is a public health nutrition program that provides wholesome food, nutrition education and community support for eligible women who are pregnant and post-partum with infants and children up to five years old.

New Jersey Expands Digital Health Access: Childhood Lead Test Results are in Docket® and myHealthNJ.com

The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) is making it easier for families to access critical childhood lead test results by expanding digital access through the Docket® app and the myHealthNJ.com web portal. This new feature makes it easy for parents and guardians to see their child’s test results, supporting them to take necessary steps for early intervention and prevention.

Statewide Overdose Deaths Decline Across All Racial and Ethnic Groups as NJ Health Department Authorizes Harm Reduction Centers in All Counties

For the first time in a decade, preliminary data shows overdose deaths decreased across all racial and ethnic groups in New Jersey from 2022 to 2023. This comes as the State also reached a significant milestone in expanding access to evidence-based care with medication alongside the authorization of Harm Reduction Centers in every county.

New Jersey Department of Health Launches SAFE NJ Program to Support School Safety and Youth Mental Health Across State

The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) is proud to announce the launch of the SAFE NJ Program, an initiative to provide trauma-informed mental health and safety resources to schools across New Jersey. Funded through the STOP School Violence Act grant by the Bureau of Justice Administration (BJA), this nearly $2 million project will extend critical support to high-need school districts statewide through June 30, 2027.
