Summary of Original Version Amend KRS 217.177 to delete recordkeeping requirements for the sale of hypodermic syringes or needles; add provisions for the sale of hypodermic syringes or needles without a prescription including a limit of 30 syringes of needles, proof of purchaser's age of 16 years or older, information requirements to be provided to the purchaser with each sale, disposal requirements, and enforcement provisions.

Summary Amend to require the pharmacy to be located in Kentucky and permitted by the board; require all personnel who access the pharmacy's electronic database from outside of the pharmacy to reside in Kentucky or within one hundred (100) miles of the pharmacy; prohibit anything in the subsection to be construed to authorize final product prescription verification from a location outside of or other than a pharmacy or to permit pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, or pharmacy interns to receive hard copy prescriptions outside of the premises of a permitted pharmacy.
