NEW Think Bigger Do Good Webinar
The fifth Think Bigger Do Good webinar held on September 29, 2021 featured Sally Luken, Founder and President of Luken Solutions and Jennifer Mathis, Director of Policy and Legal Advocacy at the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law. The discussion was moderated by Thom Craig, Director of Mental Health Program at Peg’s Foundation. The speakers shared policy recommendations for scaling housing options at the local, state, and federal levels for individuals with mental illness.

NEW Building Evaluation Capacity Video Tutorials
 
The RISE Partnership is excited to announce two new videos in its Building Evaluation Capacity video tutorial series. The second video in the series, The Big Picture, reviews theory of change, logic models, and the main types of evaluation. The third video, Focusing You Evaluation Design, reviews working with qualitative and quantitative data, data collection methods, and data collection planning.

These videos and others can be found on The RISE Partnership's YouTube Channel. The fourth and final video in the series will be released this fall.

Funding Opportunity: Expanding Access to the Child Tax Credit

The Scattergood Foundation has partnered with the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Community, Empowerment, and Opportunity to make grants available to community organizations that serve the lowest income Philadelphians to help families claim the new federal Child Tax Credit (CTC) payments. Applications are due on Monday, November 1st.

Funding Opportunity: Community Fund for Immigrant Wellness

The Community Fund for Immigrant Wellness is seeking applications for its third cycle of grantmaking to support organizations that remove barriers and provide opportunities for individuals to live with dignity and joy. Organizations are eligible to apply for two different grant tracks: Flexible Spending Grants for up to $10,000 or Programmatic Grants for up to $50,000. Grantee Spotlight: Philanthropitch Philadelphia

Philanthropitch is back in Philadelphia this year with a fast-pitch social impact competition. This year’s finalists include Called To Serve, Challah for Hunger, Beyond Literacy, ACHIEVEability, and eClose Institute. Watch their pitches on the Philanthropitch website and vote for your favorite from Wednesday, October 20th - Tuesday, October 26th at 5pm. 

A panel of judges, which includes Scattergood community partners Nelly Jimenez of ACLAMO  and Maureen Smith of The Welcoming Center, will select winners on October 28th during a live award ceremony.
