Huge news! The much-anticipated 2023 Billion-Ton Report, released by U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory is now available, shedding light on the immense potential of #biomass and #bioenergy to transform our energy landscape. The 2023 Billion-Ton Report indicated that the U.S. has the capacity to triple or quadruple biomass production to supply between 1.1 to 1.5 billion tons of sustainable biomass annually. This would allow up to 80 billion gallons per year of sustainable aviation fuel ✈️, which is more than double the 35 billion gallons of sustainable aviation fuel needed to support the nation’s 2050 Sustainable Aviation Fuels Grand Challenge goal.
