A 51-year-old is facing federal charges, accused of threatening to "bathe everyone in blood" while robbing the Wildhorse Resort and Casino on the Umatilla Indian Reservation at gunpoint, the U.S. Attorney’s Office – District of Oregon said.

Javier Francisco Vigil has been charged with “committing a Hobbs Act robbery” and using & carrying a gun to commit a violent crime.

Court documents say Vigil went into the Wildhorse Casino early Wednesday afternoon, walked up to the cashier cage in the gaming area, and handed the cashier a note demanding $1 million.

“Vigil then drew a holstered pistol, pointed it at the cashier, and threatened to ‘bathe everyone in blood,’” the U.S. Attorney’s Office – District of Oregon said.

Vigil was given nearly $70,000 cash and he left the casino, law enforcement said, pointing his gun at a tribal officer and firing at least one round.

He was injured in the ensuing shootout and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Vigil appeared in federal court Friday.

Officials say case the FBI is investigating with help from the Umatilla Tribal Police Department and Hermiston Police Department.
