Libraries popping up in parks from Monday 17th August

Children reading in the park

Look out for our pop-up libraries in local parks during the remainder of August.

Our Libraries team is inviting families to come along and find out about this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, listen to a story, take away a craft activity and pick up a free gift.

Library staff will be on hand to talk to children and families about how to join in with the Summer Reading Challenge and how to order and collect books from their local library.

We realise that children are really missing their library visits at the moment and we hope that having a presence in parks over the summer holidays will help to engage children and families with reading and excite them about books with a fabulous free gift from Booktrust!

Pop-up libraries will be in these parks at the following dates and times (click on the park name for location details):

Monday 17th August
11am – 12pm Rosehill Park
2pm – 3pm Herringthorpe Valley Park

Wednesday 19th August
10am – 1pm Clifton Park

Tuesday 25th August
11am – 12pm Rosehill Park
2pm – 3pm Herringthorpe Valley Park

Thursday 27th August

People will be encouraged to help us keep everyone safe by adhering to social distancing guidelines at all times and by regularly washing their hands.
