🌩 On May 28, 2024, the intake of petitions, applications, and other benefit requests at the Texas Service Center was temporarily suspended due to widespread and severe weather. In most instances, courier services will re-attempt delivery once the Texas Service Center re-opens; no further action from petitioners or applicants is required. If your petition or application is returned to you, you should refile at your earliest convenience. Petitioners or applicants affected by the intake disruption or by severe weather may request filing flexibilities, which USCIS can consider on a case-by-case basis. Two of our Mt. Laurel, N.J. employees were talking one day and realized they both served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany at around the same time in the 1980’s. The employees, Supervisor Immigration Services Officer Vincent Stokes and Immigration Services Assistant Michelle Callender also discovered they both liked track and were on the track team during their overseas service. The next day, Michelle brought in a photo of her Air Force track team in Germany and asked her colleague if he recognized anyone in the photo. He took one look and said, “Yes, I do know someone in that picture, that’s me right there!” They were reunited in their second career of public service - and didn't even know it! Thank you to Vincent and Michelle for your military and public service. #MilitaryAppreciationMonth

Effective May 6, 2024, USCIS shifted initial domestic processing of Form I-730, Refugee/Asylee Relative Petition, for following-to-join refugee (FTJ-R) petitions to the USCIS International Operations Division from the Asylum Vetting Center. This workload transfer will affect all Form I-730 FTJ-R petitions that were pending or filed on or after May 6, 2024. USCIS will mail transfer notices to the petitioners of pending Form I-730 FTJ-R petitions. If you have a pending Form I-730 FTJ-R petition, make sure the address associated with your pending Form I-730 is current. If you need to update your address, the Special Instructions section of the Form I-730 webpage has information about updating your address for your Form I-730.
