Executive Director, Prosperity Indiana (Central Indiana, hybrid)

Annual pay range: $100,000 - $120,000 plus health insurance

Prosperity Indiana (formerly the Indiana Association for Community Economic Development) is hiring for a high profile, statewide, community leadership position that interacts with leaders across all sectors. Top candidates will bring legislative and advocacy experience with exposure to membership or trade association leadership and operations. Financially stable organization. This leadership opportunity is created by the departure of a successful 12-year staff leader, the last five as Executive Director. Staff of 7 and annual budget of $1 mil.

Prosperity Indiana is a statewide membership organization supporting the individuals and organizations that strengthen Hoosier communities. Since its founding in 1986, Prosperity Indiana has grown to more than 200 members from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. The organization seeks ways to fund member's work, build and retain relationships, and address local and national issues that impact the capacity and potential for member organizations to deliver services and lead change in their communities.

Prosperity Indiana organizes all of its work within its REAP Prosperity framework: providing Resources, opportunities for Engagement, Advocacy, and signature Programs that support members' work. Their three focuses are affordable housing, asset building/protection, and community development.

We are seeking an Executive Director who is a strong communicator, convener, and partner to advance our efforts within the community. The Director is a systems thinker who will plan, organize, and direct the staff, programs, and activities ensuring that plans are effectively executed, and member needs met. This individual will foster collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, board members, policy makers, association members, and more.

Prosperity Indiana is looking for an energetic, strategic, and compassionate leader to plan, organize, and direct the programs and activities of this robust organization. This leader will bring:

• Legislative/advocacy background strongly desired with knowledge of Indiana government and how it works.
• Association/membership organization leadership experience, staff or board.
• Familiarity with comprehensive community development/economic development.
• Demonstrated experience in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including board members, policy makers, and the media.
• Staff leadership and development experience.
• Skilled at building an inclusive and equitable culture.
• High level of professional and personal ethics.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
• Ability to use and leverage technology.
• A bachelor’s degree or applicable experience; advanced degree is preferred.
