A Message from the Director

The Kentucky River District Health Department is committed to improving the lives of the residents of this region. We accomplish this task by focusing on the prevention of disease and injuries, promoting conditions which support people to live healthy lives, and by protecting our residents from dangers which could negatively impact their health. Our team of dedicated professionals are on the job every day working for you. Some of our staff are on call 24/7 because threats to our health never take the night off.

KRDHD provides a full range of services for the residents of our region. We are literally working to improve your health from birth to the grave. Our HANDS program works with moms and dads to have healthy pregnancies. Our Home Health Agency provides much needed in home care often to elderly individuals who are approaching the end of their life’s journey. These are just two of the numerous services listed on this website. No matter what service you receive from our agency you have my commitment that it will be provided by a trained professional who will treat you with respect and dignity.

One of the most important things we do is form partnerships with individuals and entities in both the public and private sector to improve our region. We live in one of the most beautiful parts of the nation but we have some of the biggest health challenges. Smoking related illnesses and substance use disorder are causing our residents to die way too young. These problems are too big for anyone to solve by themselves. It will take a commitment from individuals and agencies in the public, private, and faith-based communities to make a difference but we are up to the challenge.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to know more about any of the services we offer or how we can work together to make our region a better place to live, work, and recreate.
