15901 Using the Outside as Your Main STEM Tool

Take the indoor classroom outside and bring STEM to life. Using various tools such as GooseChase, Geocaching, iNaturalist, and others, learn to use the “outside” as your main STEM tool. Discover how to integrate STEM into social studies, ELA, and science curriculum. Help students acquire and synthesize knowledge through experiential learning. Design lessons using STEM tools and curriculum that fits your grade level and content area.

Applying to NCCAT

Who is Eligible? North Carolina certified pre-K through 12th grade teachers who are employed in North Carolina public schools, including charter schools, are eligible to attend NCCAT programs. (This may include school administrators, counselors, library media specialists, lead teachers, and mentors.) 

Please check with your principal prior to applying to be sure your travel/substitute teacher costs will be covered by your school.

NCCAT Online NOTICE: As of July 1, 2022, registrants are limited to two (2) NCCAT Online courses per quarter.

What is Provided? NCCAT provides your food, lodging and programming. Teachers and/or their districts are responsible for travel and substitute teacher costs.

How Do I Know If I've Been Accepted? Once we have received your completed application, we will email notification of your placement status to you as well as your principal/director. To ensure that you receive any and all emails from NCCAT, please add noreply@orbund.com to your email address book.
