Fair and Just Prosecution’s new Blueprint for Police Accountability and Reform outlines concrete policy recommendations for meaningful reform in the following areas:

  • A new vision for our justice system: Leaders must join with communities in creating a new vision for, and fundamental shift in, the way our justice system promotes safer and healthier communities.
  • A new vision for policing: In order to earn community trust, policing must be transformed through demilitarization, fortified accountability and independent oversight, enhanced transparency, and nationally standardized use of force policies which prioritize human life and racial justice.
  • A new vision for prosecution: Prosecutors must hold law enforcement accountable, ensure their independence from police unions, adopt reforms that mitigate racial inequities in prosecution, and rectify past injustices.


Webinar Series: International Symposium on Girls in Conflict with the Law
Alternatives to incarceration of girls
The webinar series brings leading experts together to explore the unique vulnerabilities that girls’ face when they come into conflict with the law. Expert presenters from 10 countries will share their expertise on topics including criminal procedures for girl offenders; restorative justice and diversion practices; sex trafficking of girls; services to address mental illness, drug abuse or physical disability; and the psychological and social impacts on girl offenders worldwide.

CSG Training Opportunity Aims to Improve Local Mental Health Responses
This winter, the Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center is offering free virtual, intensive training to three jurisdictions at the municipal and county level to help reduce the number of people with mental illnesses who are arrested and booked into jail. Selected jurisdictions will leave this training with concrete steps for future action.
 
This opportunity is offered with support from the Bureau of Justice Assistance. Apply by Friday, January 15, 2021.

Administrator – First Responder Consulting and Training
TASC's Center for Health and Justice is hiring! You'll join the team in providing training and consulting to law enforcement and first responders on first responder diversion and deflection.
 
This position is responsible for the management of consulting, training and technical assistance projects at the intersection of justice and health policy. The Administrator will work independently with both internal staff and external partners, agencies, consultants, trainers and organizations to accomplish this work.


Deputy Director, Harlem Community Justice Center
The Harlem Community Justice Center (HCJC) is an operating project of the Center for Court Innovation and serves as a community court in East Harlem. HCJC includes a NYC housing court and offers a range of programs to address community needs and issues, including services to increase housing stability, eviction prevention, as well as innovative youth and community based programming.

Reporting to the Project Director, the Deputy Director will provide clinical and operational leadership for all program services at the Harlem Community Justice Center. The Deputy Director will be a thought partner for the Project Director, an integral part of the Justice Center’s management team, and will foster a culture promoting teamwork, innovative ideas, and excellence in service delivery. Resources: The Native Center for Behavioral Health 
Evidence based and traditional cultural practices for behavioral health disorders

As documented by the Indian Health Service, the opioid crisis consistently ravaged tribal communities and now, tribal communities are among those being hit hardest by the new methamphetamine ‘crisis,’ with Indigenous youth continuing to be at greatest risk. A research center at the University of Iowa College of Public Health, the Native Center for Behavioral Health’s mission is to serve as subject-matter experts and key authorities on resources for culturally informed prevention practices, addiction treatment, recovery, and mental health services, supporting behavioral health professionals working with Native communities.

The Center has a variety of trainings & presentations on their YouTube channel.
