There are weeks, and then there are weeks like this one, when the phrase “Thank God it’s Friday” rings especially true.

Long hours of floor debate that frequently neared, or stretched past, midnight. But several supplemental budget bills were passed, as were several public safety measures including a gun storage bill that provoked 11 hours of discussion on Thursday.

The House was back in session Friday with more supplemental budget bills to debate and will be again Monday when the human services budget package, HF5280/SF5335*, is on the Calendar for the Day.

Two capital investment bills have also begun to move through the process as we near the final fortnight of the 2024 legislative session.
