Last week we hosted a delegation in Kentucky for a productive visit focused on Controlled Environment Agriculture, highlighting the enduring partnership and collaborative successes between the Netherlands and the Commonwealth in the sector. Joined by representatives from the Ministerie van Landbouw, Natuur en Voedselkwaliteit based at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the USA for a series of strategic meetings across government, private industry, and academia, the Dutch-Kentucky partnership aims to help create sustainable, equitable, and resilient food systems. Through cultivating an environment for growth for controlled environment agriculture in the state, there is a bright future for agritech in Kentucky. 🏛️ In-depth government-to-government discussions with the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture solidified the alignment of our economic development and agricultural priorities, reinforcing our shared commitment to agritech innovation and sustainable development in the region. 🌱A visit to Bosch Berries with Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell showcased how Dutch technologies are being integrated into Kentucky's agriculture ecosystem, setting a prime example of international collaboration driving local industry advancements. 📖 The participation of University of Pikeville and University of Kentucky leaders during our meetings and networking events underscored the vital role of academic institutions in fostering innovation. These discussions highlighted ongoing projects like the Sachdeva CEA Research and Entrepreneurship Incubator and new developments at UK's College of Agriculture, Food, and the Environment. 🇳🇱🇺🇸This visit not only reaffirmed the strong ties between Kentucky and the Netherlands but also set the stage for future initiatives that will continue to enrich both regions economically and academically. We look forward to building on this foundation, further enhancing our thriving AgriTech ecosystem through shared knowledge and mutual economic benefits. Arcadis Bosch Growers NLWorks
