UK weather: Heavy rain and strong wind for parts of UK as Storm Alex arrives from Europe
A small number of properties could be flooded during the weekend as bad weather hits various regions in the UK.

Parts of the UK will be hit by strong wind and heavy rain as a storm moves in from Europe.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind and rain from 3am until 8pm on Friday for southern England, southeast Wales and parts of Herefordshire.
It comes as Storm Alex, named by the French meteorological service, moves over the Channel from France.
Flooding of "a few homes and businesses in urbanised areas is likely", the Met Office said, adding that spray and flooding on roads could result in dangerous driving conditions and delays for high-sided vehicles in exposed areas.
Road, rail, air and ferry transport could be delayed and there is the risk of short power cuts.
Coastal areas could also see winds of up to 65mph until Saturday.
Between 3am on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday, most of England, all of Wales, and the eastern side of Scotland are also covered by a yellow weather warning for heavy rain.
During this period parts of Wales, southwest England and eastern Scotland could see over 100mm of rain, with the risk of flooding and landslides as well as very difficult driving conditions.
Chief meteorologist at the Met Office, Steve Ramsdale warned of gales of up to 65mph in coastal areas.
Mr Ramsdale added: "As the strong winds and rain associated with Storm Alex clear away from Britain later on Friday, another low-pressure system moves towards the UK from the east bringing further very heavy rain and strong winds to many over the weekend."
The Environment Agency added: "Heavy rain will bring the potential for surface water flooding and perhaps some river flooding across the south of England on Friday.
"More widespread and persistent heavy rain across much of England will bring the potential for further river and surface water flooding over the weekend.
"We urge people to stay away from swollen rivers and not to drive though flood water, it is often deeper than it looks and just 30cm of flowing water is enough to float your car."
