HAB Data Portals: It would be easy if there was one species!
HAB data portals are challenging as multiple species occur in the data set- ones that are ‘species of interest’ and ones that are not. Join us for our next webinar that will present three strategies for a HAB data portal - the WHOI HABHub, the co-designing of a community HAB Data Assembly Center (HABDAC) and the HABScope. We hope you will come away with strategies for you to use in your region.

Making community science work: This panel will explore successful methods for engaging community science and observing for Harmful Algal Blooms. Topics will include technologies used by community science efforts, managing data quality, documenting metadata, best practices for coordinating and supporting community members, and financial considerations. Panelists will include community science coordinators and data scientists.

Observing and aquaculture: Examples and Emerging Issues: This panel will discuss how HAB observing can support aquaculture operations and inform them of potential HABs. Topics include review of the current regulatory environment, HAB threats to shellfish and finfish growing operations, and lessons learned from projects in federal and state waters. Panelists will include scientists, operators, and regulatory experts.
