Find out about the primary to secondary conversion programme, for Welsh speaking teachers.

The innovative Cynllun Pontio aims to increase the number of Welsh-medium secondary school teachers – could you be one of them?

Data suggests there is currently a surplus of Welsh-medium primary school teachers, the Welsh Government is running a conversion programme, called the Cynllun Pontio, targeting primary teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to receive training and support in order to convert to teach in the secondary sector. The scheme has also been expanded to include secondary teachers who have been out of the profession for five years or more and teachers wishing to return to teach in Wales from England and other countries.
