ICS 300: Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents
3-Day Training November 7th through the 9th 8am-5pm
Course Description:
ICS-300 provides an in-depth focus on the NIMS (National Incident Management System) Incident Command System (ICS) that includes the tools, practices and procedures that are available in ICS to effectively manage emergency incidents or planned local events at a local Type 3 level. This course expands on ICS-100 and -200 and ensures that responders understand the basic ICS concepts that allow an incident management organization to expand and contract as needed to fit the incident and maintain its operational effectiveness.
Prerequisites - Will need to submit copies prior to class
- ICS-100 Introduction to Incident Command System
- ICS-200 ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
- ICS-700 National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction
- ICS-800 National Response Framework, An Introduction
- Will need to have an active FEMA Student Identification (SID) number

Course Objectives:
- Describe how the NIMS Command and Management component supports the management of expanding incidents.
- Describe the incident/event management process for supervisors and expanding incidents as prescribed by the Incident Command System (ICS).
- Implement the incident management process on a simulated Type 3 incident.
- Develop an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident.
