Working Remotely to Keep Your Operations Going?

NM-LTAP understands that the COVID-19 outbreak has complicated the work you do. Your safety is of primary importance to us and we appreciate the sacrifices you're making to keep our systems in operation.

In response to COVID-19, NM-LTAP is working to provide digital resources to help in your day-to-day operations. This week, we've posted a series of GIS tutorial videos to help support the work you're doing remotely.  There is no fee for these courses, you can start and stop them anytime, and if you have trouble accessing them online, we can send you a copy in the mail.

We are here for you. Thank you for being here for New Mexico.
GIS Training Opportunities

CAD/GIS Integration and Workflows

The goal for most DOTs is to have a seamless flow of data throughout the project lifecycle. This represents one of the key areas where DOTs could gain efficiencies, and improve existing workflows. This webinar presents a number of techniques designed to support various workflows which draw on both CAD and GIS data. Video courtesy of ESRI International.
LiDAR Building Extraction Tool
This video workshop provides an instruction on how to use a ArcGIS compatible toolset to extract building footprint from airborne LiDAR data.   . Provided by UNM Earth Data Analysis Center (EDAC)

Targeted Safety Interventions with ArcGIS

This webinar and presentation will demonstrate an interactive tool that combines advanced geospatial techniques with specialist road safety knowledge to assist road safety practitioners to make well-informed decisions regarding the appropriateness and efficacy of safety countermeasures to address different road safety risks. Provided by ESRI International.

The Future of 3D in Transportation: BIM, CAD, GIS
We are increasingly moving to a 3D world, and DOTs are no exception. Whether called BIM or increasingly CIM (Civil Information Modeling) DOTs are being challenged to integrate information from across the infrastructure lifecycle, and plan, design and manage infrastructure in 3D. This webinar will highlight where Esri is going in CIM, and how we expect to leverage our growing relationships in the design world, all with the goal of achieving integrated information flows. Highway Performance Monitoring System Travel Time Data Processing
TRB released a recording in April 2019 that discusses The National Performance Measure Research Data Set (NPMRDS). The NPMRDS is an offline probe-based travel time data archival that is used for various before and after studies involving travel time changes, and has been incorporated in the Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS). This webinar describes a case study approach to examine potential applications of the NPMRDS travel time data to test its quality and reliability. The presenter analyzes corridor-level NPMRDS data in Hawaii using spatial and statistical modeling tools. He also identifies database and analytical tools that may be used to fulfill the HPMS travel time mandate primarily using open source tools. Privded by the National Academies
