Widespread, devastating floods hit Morocco
Massive and destructive floods hit many parts of Morocco on April 24, 2020, turning streets and roads into raging rivers.
In Youssoufia, damages were reported as waters ripped through neighborhoods. Traffic came to a complete halt in most urban roads in the city.
In Fez, two hours of continuous rain caused major flooding, leading to several traffic accidents. Alleys and streets were affected, particularly because of the city's poor infrastructure.
Significant losses were reported in the town of El Kelaa des Sraghna in central Morocco as may livestock perished, including about 30 sheep. 70 houses were destroyed, but no fatalities were reported. As a result, families were forced to stay outside as they look for safer areas.
