Oregonians would no longer need a prescription to purchase cold medicine containing pseudoephedrine under a bill set for a vote Wednesday in the Oregon House.

Under House Bill 2648, the medication wouldn’t be found in the aisles of grocery stories or pharmacies. People who wanted to purchase it would need to ask a pharmacist, who would enter information about the transaction into a database used by more than three dozen states.
