The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is waiving copayments for the months of October, November and December 2020 for families receiving Child Care Subsidies. Waiving copays allows eligible families to keep more of their income to meet other needs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

DCYF will pay the family’s copayment requirement to the provider through the normal invoice process. For example, the family’s October copay will be included in the provider payment made for October services.

DCYF is in the process of notifying families by mail. If you have the opportunity, please let families know that their copay is waived for October, November and December 2020.

Families will be required to pay their copay beginning in January 2021. DCYF will cap copays at $115 for the months of January, February, March, April, May and June 2021. This means that the highest family copay will be $115. DCYF will send additional information regarding January copays in December.

Thank you for your continuing commitment to the children and families of Washington State.
