Announcement 📢

We are no longer accepting referrals onto our Change for Good programme.

If you are looking to make healthy lifestyle choices and you have a long-term health condition, then please take a look at our Good Moves programme - it’s a free social 8-week course where we develop knowledge and practical skills relating to healthy eating, portion size, gentle exercise, and managing long-term health conditions.

What is Change for Good?

Change for Good is a free 12-week online and in-person programme that focuses on how you can make positive lifestyle choices in your day to day.

One focus of the course is weight loss, and we approach this in a holistic way. We will explore together what a healthy diet is. You will learn skills to help you set achievable goals, control cravings, and prevent weight regain. We will also look at how you can incorporate healthy habits in a steady and safe way that can be sustained long-term.

Having the support of your peers is a strong way to keep up motivation, and this is central to the course. We want to bring people together in an encouraging and supportive group. Sharing your experiences and hearing inspirational stories from your peers is a good reminder that you are all on this journey together.

How is the course run?

The course is made up of 12 one-hour sessions which run over 12 weeks. The sessions are held online using Zoom or delivered face-to-face and we have both daytime and evening options. Sessions will be run in different languages by local, qualified and experienced tutors.

Change for Good follows an NHS approved programme and covers nutritional and lifestyle topics each week. We will look at things like portion size and the hunger scale. You will also have motivational goal check-ins with the tutors.

The groups will be interactive with plenty of time for discussion. You will have the opportunity to form relationships with your group and find friends to share recipes and healthy lifestyle experiences.

You will also be supported to become part of a local online community where you can meet and support others on the journey.
