Find out how to set up your social enterprise

If you’re passionate about making a difference with your business idea, we’ve got a free workshop coming up for anyone looking to set up a Social Enterprise.
Come along to meet other entrepreneurs aspiring to change local communities for the better and find out what you need to know when setting up your own social enterprise. Register to attend the workshop on 9 July.

Cover the basics of starting and growing your own business in our free two-day workshop on 15-16 July. We'll be joined by a range of specialists who will guide you through the basics of building and growing your ideas and help give you the knowledge to take your business to the next step. Free business support at Armley Community Hub and Library

If you, or someone you know, has a small business based in or around Armley, register for our Start-up Leeds programme at Armley Community Hub and Library. The programme will kick off with an introduction to Start-up Leeds on 18 July before covering the business basics. You can sign-up to the full programme or dip into the topics that best suit your needs. The programme is ideal for young businesses (under 3 years of trading) looking for expert support and one-to-one guidance to help with their business ideas. Find out more and sign-up.


Get to know Fred, founder of Selfish Spirits

Fred attended a range of our Start-up Leeds workshops to find out how to conduct his business research and craft a social media strategy for his rum business, Selfish Spirits. 

Selfish Spirits is an ethically conscious spirit brand based in Skipton, aiming to make the world a little bit better through supporting charitable causes and being as sustainable as possible wherever they can. A portion of proceeds from all sales of their products goes to charitable causes close to their hearts. Find out more about Selfish Spirits here.

Since attending Start-up Leeds workshops, Fred has shared his business journey with other aspiring entrepreneurs at our regional launch event and is focused on developing the Selfish Spirits brand even further.
