Why is the discount only offered to veterans only during veterans day weekend? Veterans are veterans all year long. Why not offer the discount to them all year long like Lowes and Home Depot, and others? I am a veteran and missed seeing the discount by one day, because I was out of country.

I have been trying for three days to get signed up for the Amazon Military Discount. Have talked to Amazon twice and the last time they opened a ticket on me and assured they would be back in touch tomorrow. You would think Amazon would have tried to work out the bugs before starting the program. I still like you Amazon but I really would like your discount.

I tried to sign up for the $40 discount and got an error message too. Then I realized I had typed my full name when I applied. Tried typing my name as on my Amazon Account and it worked. Hope that helps.

I was able to get my $40 Amazon discount today. Found a number to call 1-888-280-4331. I was informed that they are overloaded with requests, and the site has not been able to verify your service. If you should reach a person out of this country that’s hard to understand, just ask nice for an American. They were able to send me an email to respond to for verification. Went fast, and well. I am now extended for another year at $79. If you are not an active member of Amazon, you can get your fist year at $79 vs $119+tax. Hope that this helps some.

    I was loadmaster on C-97s & 124s MATS
AT Travis 1957-61. Troop carrying around the world. No combat but plenty
Of lost engines and close scrapes on those
Old redesigned B29 airframes. Those 4 years are the years of which I am most
Proud in an otherwise pretty humble life.
I am most appreciative of the VA healthcare
And discounts offered to vets. Er

I am overseas and each time I try to complete the discount for Vets, the German Version of Amazon pop up. How can I change it. Think it’s a great thing that Veterans get this support. Amazon has super products.

Apparently I got through to someone — Amazon just signed me up “BY HAND” in order to take advantage of this great deal.
Thank you VA and Amazon — really, really appreciate the $40 discount!

Just tried to sign up for the Veteran’s Day special for $40 off Amazon Prime but the site is not working. I have tried twice to sign in — the second time was at the INSISTENCE of Amazon help desk. Both times I received the following error message:

    “Oops, something went wrong.
Sorry, we’re having trouble processing the request. Please make sure your information is correct, and try again. If that doesn’t work, contact our Customer Support team at VeteransDay@amazon.com

I would have thought this would have been worked out PRIOR to the offer.

    • Timothy Vuncanon November 7, 2019 at 14:53

Same problem here. I emailed as instructed in the error message and sent them a copy of my Veterans ID card. Hope that works!

      • James Kelley November 9, 2019 at 22:37

Had same problem. Make sure you type your name exactly as it appears on your Amazon Account. I added my middle initial the first two times and got an error message. Then remembered I didn’t use it in my Amazon Account. Used my first and last name as on the Account and it worked. Hope that helps you too.
