Click here On November 16–18, 2021, join U.S. Department of Justice leaders, Administration dignitaries, federal partners, COSSAP grantees, and select BJA grantees from across the country in the fight against America’s opioid and substance misuse. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the 2021 Virtual Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program (COSSAP) National Forum: COSSAP 2021—New Partners, New Tools, Renewed Hope, to be held from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 p.m., ET, on November 16, 17, and 18, 2021. This virtual convening, hosted by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) through COSSAP, will focus on tackling one of the most critical challenges of our time: putting an end to America’s opioid, stimulant, and substance misuse. The virtual setting will offer the feel of an in-person event, allowing participants to connect directly with colleagues to hear from federal experts, discuss relevant issues and trends, share ideas, exchange resources, and gain new skills to improve programs. Planned session topics include how jurisdictions are pivoting during the COVID-19 pandemic to meet the needs of their communities; building or expanding innovative and successful partnerships; incorporating equity, diversity, and inclusion; harm reduction programs; first responder diversion programs; medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs; and more. During grantee spotlight sessions, COSSAP grantees will share their experiences, including project successes, challenges faced, barriers that were overcome, and best practices for continued services during these unprecedented times. Throughout the event, attendees will have opportunities to ask panelists questions, engage in mentoring opportunities, and network with peers. There is no cost to attend the virtual event. Details, including an online registration form, are available at https://www.cossapresources.org/Learning/Forum2021. Additional information—resources, handouts, presenter and moderator information, etc.—will be added to the website when available. Please note that as part of your COAP/COSSAP award requirements, a minimum of two staff members from each COAP/COSSAP grant project are required to attend.
