Click here About the Opportunity: The PRSSMI supports organizations or jurisdictions interested in sharing implementation expertise or incorporating peer recovery support services (PRSS) into their portfolio of substance use intervention and treatment strategies. This program is part of the training and technical assistance (TTA) resources available to local jurisdictions through BJA’s Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program (COSSAP). COSSAP was developed as part of the 2016 Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act. It is designed to provide financial and technical assistance to states, units of local government, and Indian tribal governments to plan, develop, and implement comprehensive efforts to identify, respond to, treat, and support those impacted by the opioid epidemic. COSSAP was expanded in 2019 to include stimulants and other substances. The PRSSMI promotes networking and program-to-program learning among organizations that are implementing PRSS in criminal justice settings. This opportunity provides an exchange of promising approaches, best practices, and evidence-supported services to enhance the capacity of organizations to develop and/or improve their own PRSS programs. In its role as a COSSAP TTA provider and in close collaboration with BJA, Altarum is facilitating the selection process for both the PRSSMI mentor and mentee sites. Details about this peer-to-peer learning initiative, including application forms and submission links, are highlighted in this announcement and fully outlined at https://cossapresources.org/Learning/PeerToPeer/PRSSMI. Mentee sites selected through this application process will receive consultation and support from their assigned mentor, culminating in either a virtual or in-person visit to their mentor site.
