Hochul’s Judge Flop Compounds Uncertainty for New York Courts

New York Acting Chief Judge Anthony Cannataro in his State of Our Judiciary address Tuesday aimed to ease concerns over uncertainty as the state’s top judge position remains unfilled following a clash between the governor and state Senate.

Cannataro, in the annual speech traditionally given by the chief judge, briefly touched on the “unprecedented events surrounding the chief judge selection process” and the “unexpected duration” of his interim service.
