Chips, Chirps and Cheer – Holiday Social and Winter Bird Education (Rockledge)

Enjoy and share holiday cheer while learning about ways to welcome and nourish our winter birds. Wild Birds Unlimited of Palm Coast will provide a hands-on demonstration of multiple types of feeders and food. The demonstration will include tips on installation, cleaning and location of feeders. Our event will also include information on citizen science activities you can become involved with by monitoring birds in your own backyard (Project FeederWatch and Great Backyard Bird Count).

After the demonstration you’ll be able to shop for your feathered and human friends (or yourself). To make the season even merrier, we’ll have a tree of giving where you can make Christmas special for the residents and patients of the FL Wildlife Hospital. Adopt a hospital patient, bring an item to fill Santa’s hospital supply sleigh or purchase a stocking stuffer. A portion of the total purchases will be donated to the FL Wildlife Hospital in the form of donated seed and food.

Chips and Dips – please bring a dip to share (veggie, dill, guacamole, crab, salsa, hummus, queso, spinach, bean, 3-layer, etc) – hot or cold. The Chapter will provide chips, crackers and pretzels to dip.

Chirps – exchange birding stories while shopping and socializing

Cheer – brighten a bird lover’s holiday with a special gift or share some warmth for an animal in need.
