FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Roseville – Caltrans is alerting Roseville area pedestrians and bicyclists that the closure of the Miner’s Ravine Multi-Use Trail near the Interstate 80 westbound Atlantic Street Overcrossing is being extended through mid-May 2022.

Caltrans has continued major construction work through winter on a $12 million project to expand the width of the existing single-lane Atlantic Street/Eureka Road/Interstate 80 westbound onā€ramp to include three lanes. The expansion includes replacing the on-ramp structure that crosses over the multi-use trail to support the newly widened roadway. The project is expected to reduce significant traffic backups and improve the operation of local streets and intersections.

During construction work, the Miner’s Ravine Multi-Use Trail has remained closed with heavy equipment staged in the trail area. A bicycle and pedestrian detour on local streets is available during the closure. Prior to the trail’s reopening in May, Caltrans and its contractor will reconstruct and repave any damaged portions to provide a continuous and smooth pathway for all users.

Myers & Sons Construction of Sacramento is the prime contractor for the project, which is expected to be completed this summer.

Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow down in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements. The department will issue construction updates on Twitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3.
