SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
In addition to meeting the Competency Requirements listed below, applicants must have the experience or education listed below.
GS-07
For the GS-07, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: applying knowledge of programming, software development, or problem solving to support software and system development; participating in the development of innovative software solutions for projects involving large volumes of data; and/or developing, with assistance, software systems using knowledge of techniques, procedures, and processes such as data structures, service oriented architecture, software engineering, and computer communication.
OR
Education: 1 year of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement.
GS-09
For GS-09 you must at least one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: assist with planning proposing and or designing segments of IT programs; design modifications to internal program structure of files and records; codes, test debugs IT programs; and supports the integration of hardware and software components.
OR
Education: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
GS-11
For the GS-11 you must have at least one year experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: analyzing and refining system requirements to determine application systems. Developing test data and procedures to analyze and evaluate the results. Designing user interfaces; analyzing business requirements, risk and cost.
OR
Education: 3 academic years of progressively higher level graduate education, leading to a LL.M. or doctoral degree.
GS-12
For the GS-12 you must have at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: analyzing needs and product requirements to create software designs and code based on a specified rule or set of rules; investigating system concepts and interactions to identify or predict software engineering problem areas; conducts studies and recommend course of actions; and independently develop complex routines of internal programs by coding testing and debugging.
Education cannot be substituted for experience for this position at this grade level.
