This week during the Philanthropy Europe Association Forum, USAID welcomed Belgium’s development cooperation agency, Enabel, and nine European foundations as they endorsed the Donor Statement on Supporting Locally Led Development. These organizations join 15 other foundations and 20 donor countries in a shared commitment to: ✔️ Shift and share power to ensure local actors have ownership over programs ✔️ Work to channel high quality funding as directly as possible to local actors ✔️ Publicly advocate for locally led development. USAID continues to help build a global coalition of funders who are committed to advancing #LocallyLed development. Learn more at usaid.gov/localization.

Wrapping up a four-day visit, Administrator Samantha Power highlighted several new programs and initiatives that build on the more than six decades of partnership between USAID and Morocco: 🔹 A new partnership with the Rabita Mohammedia League of Scholars and International Organization for Migration. This local partnership empowers youth and supports the Government of Morocco’s efforts to address challenges confronting young Moroccans. 🔹 A new partnership with the OCP Group, a Moroccan fertilizer producer, underscoring USAID and OCP’s commitment to address food insecurity throughout Africa and to working together to tackle critical barriers hindering Africa’s agricultural potential. 🔹 A new partnership with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and GiveDirectly to launch the first component of USAID’s new climate program in the country. #USAID #Morocco #ClimateChange
