Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment
An Assessment of Officer Attitudes Toward the Training and Use of a Pre-arrest Booking Diversionary Program
A study published in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment, by Scott Hoke, Kerrie Baker, and Kristen Wenrich, looks at the attitudes of police officers in two urban police departments towards pre-arrest booking programs. Different law enforcement diversionary programs, centered on the incorporation of public health partnerships, have emerged as an alternative approach to the opioid epidemic. This research study assessed officer attitudes toward the training and execution of one such diversionary program. Read the full study here.

Resource: Frontline Responders Network
A Virtual Community about and for Front Line Responders
A collaboration between PTACC National Partners, C4 Recovery Foundation and QRT National, the Frontline Responders Network is a forum for first responders to engage with each other and leaders in the field. Users are able to discuss and ask questions of each other; access leaders in the field through the use of virtual “office hours”; and learn from other agencies presenting as experts on a variety of topics. The site launched last week; the inaugural webinar focused on the issue of “Stress.” Attached is a one pager for last week’s launch.
