President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, and AmeriCorps CEO Michael D. Smith served with Philabundance, AmeriCorps members, and community volunteers in Philadelphia on Sunday. The stop comes just ahead of Monday, Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, a national day of service.

Michael Volunteers at Garfield Terrace Apartments with ServeDC and The Mission Continues

MLK Day of Service with Serve DC

On Monday, Serve DC partnered with The Mission Continues and the Garfield Terrace Resident Council to update the roof top garden, install and activate an inside food growing space, and beautify the indoor facilities used by residents. AmeriCorps CEO Michael D. Smith volunteered with this project and served with OMB Director Shalanda Young (pictured top right) and the Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough (pictured bottom left).
