Union breaks with Hardesty

Portland Fire Fighters’ Association has officially endorsed Rene Gonzales for Portland City Commissioner who is running against Jo Ann Hardesty.  Commissioner Hardesty runs the Fire Bureau in Portland.   This is a very loud public rebuke of Hardesty who is famous for pushing the defund police movement in Portland and has nabbed dozens of liberal group endorsements.

The firefighter union said they were in a staffing crisis under Hardesty’s reign.  The Portland police union also backed Rene Gonzales over Hardesty.  That union also said they were in a staffing crisis (as Hardesty cut their budget by $15 million).
