Outline
An introduction to safeguarding, suitable for governors in all roles.
Description
This course will provide an introduction to the key principles of safeguarding, including:
- How to recognise potential indicators of child maltreatment: physical, emotional and sexual abuse and neglect.
- An awareness of the legal framework and be able to follow local policies and procedures.
- Identifying what action to take when you have safeguarding concerns including to whom you should report your concerns to and seek advice and support from.
- An introduction to the standards for safeguarding children all schools are required to have in place
Outcomes
By the end of the course you will:
- Know what action to take if you are worried about a child being harmed
- Know the standards for safeguarding children all schools are required to have in place
