Woolly Mammoth Stitch Works

Our social mission is to use collaborative tapestry artworks and wool stitch projects to increase people’s wellbeing and connectedness.

Our story so far

As every project is bespoke, we have a growing portfolio of diverse and creative projects. Take a look at current and past projects to get a flavour for who we are and what we do. We have a range of models to fit budgets, levels of engagement and life circumstances.

The way we work

All Woolly Mammoth Stitch Works projects and commissions are built around a set of values and approaches to maximise community benefit. Find out how we measure our social impact for individual project collaborators and communities.

Our services

Alongside our own projects, we offer our services to organisations and businesses who want to strengthen or develop connections with and between people. This includes developing new audiences to a place or theme and contributing to social cohesion.

Woolly Mammoth Stitch Works CIC was set up in 2019 by tapestry needle-point artist Tina Francis and community engagement professional Suze Carter. Tina and Suze have worked together previously on two large scale tapestry stitch projects as part of activity programmes funded through the National Lottery Heritage Fund as stand alone projects. They decided to continue their professional collaboration and set up a social enterprise to enable them to play a role in stitching communities together across the city.
