Question for written answer E-001256/2021
to the Commission
Rule 138
Hilde Vautmans (Renew)
On 3 February 2021, the European Commission unveiled its ‘Beating Cancer Plan’. This plan focuses on childhood cancer and its impact on patients and those around them.
One of the Commission’s proposals is the ‘Cancer Survivor Smart Card’, which aims to provide an overview of the medical history of former childhood cancer patients.
Regarding this proposal:
- 1.What will the Cancer Survivor Smart Card look like?
- 2.Will it be introduced in all Member States? If so, when exactly can we expect the roll-out to begin?
- 3.Will sufficient training be provided for medical staff responsible for issuing patients and their families with the card? If so, exactly how and when will this take place?
