Attend meeting November 2 to discover our continued efforts to reduce odors
The Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA) invites the community to their 13th annual community meeting on Thursday, November 2nd at 6 p.m. to discuss odors and other operational topics of importance to residents. This meeting will be held in-person at the WPWMA’s Administrative Offices (3013 Fiddyment Road, Roseville, CA 95747), with a comprehensive facility tour beforehand at 5 p.m.
The workshop will include updates on current WPWMA projects and provide an opportunity for residents to engage with WPWMA staff and ask questions surrounding the following topics:
- WPWMA history and facility operations,
- On- and offsite odor conditions,
- Regulations affecting odors,
- Enhancements to the odor monitoring system,
- An overview of the WPWMA’s Waste Action Plan to address western Placer County’s future waste management needs,
- A firsthand look at the WPWMA’s new $120 million facilities improvement project,
- And more!
The WPWMA – a joint powers authority comprised of Placer County and the cities of Lincoln, Rocklin, and Roseville – owns and operates a Material Recovery Facility and the only active landfill in Placer County. Over the past 13 years, the WPWMA has conducted community meetings to engage residents in a dialogue regarding the WPWMA’s operations and regional odor conditions.
“WPWMA is excited to welcome the community back to our campus for the annual odor meeting after several years of virtual events,” said Eric Oddo, WPWMA Program Manager. “Western Placer is rapidly growing, and we want to continue educating our community on our operations and the odors associated with solid waste to support our commitment to being a good neighbor.”
