The Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor, is seeking a Senior Counsel who is passionate about delving into complex legal issues and making a real impact on the lives of American workers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to the Solicitor and Deputy Solicitors, playing a pivotal role in shaping legal activities that directly impact workers across the nation.
The successful candidate will draft, review, and prepare a wide range of legal documents, from opinions and regulations to briefs and motions. Collaborating with divisions throughout the Department, the Senior Counsel will offer legal advice to senior management officials, analyzing legal issues and providing recommendations to drive informed decision-making. For example, the Senior Counsel will be involved in reviewing appellate recommendations, making recommendations on Supreme Court cases and appellate court matters, and occasionally drafting briefs and requests for appellate review.
