Chinese New Year

Spring Festival 2022

On 1 February 2022 we celebrate the Year of the Tiger

The characteristics of this particular animal are said to be growth, development, creation and planning. So with these qualities in mind, the Welsh Confucius Institutes are putting on a range of activities for your pupils to get their teeth into. These include film screenings, storytelling, Chinese arts & craft workshops and live performances.

Woman, warrior, legend

The Ballad of Mulan comes to Lampeter and Bangor

The Confucius Institutes at Bangor and UWTSD will be bringing the real story behind the legendary Chinese woman warrior to Wales on 6 & 11 February 2022.

The Ballad of Mulan is an unmissable production about the real heroine behind the Chinese legend that inspired Disney’s films. This live performance by Red Dragonfly Productions has been described as 'captivating, mixed with a little humour, and it explores the breaking of traditional roles, gender and identity.'
