Are you a Veteran artist and leather crafter? The Veterans Celebrating Autumn Leather Crafting Competition is accepting competition submissions now through Sept. 22.

Challenge America and Tandy Leather are inviting Veteran leather crafters to submit their best pieces celebrating autumn by participating in the partnership’s first-ever competition.

leather competition for VeteransThe leather crafting competition offers Veteran artists a unique opportunity to showcase their talent and are welcome in the new season.

From August 15 to September 22, Veterans are encouraged to submit one original piece of leather work under the theme, “Celebrating Autumn.” A panel of judges will select the top finalists, which will then go to a popular vote to determine the first, second and third-place winners. Winners’ work will be showcased in Challenge America and Tandy Leather’s newsletters and social media channels, as well as receive a Tandy gift card of $100 (first place), $75 (second place), or $50 (third place).

The deadline for submissions is September 22.

I’m an intermediate crafter myself. 24 years, Air Force. Making mostly bags and pouches and wallets. Can I be of any help?

WOW…the money prize will in many cases barely cover the cost of the leather/supplies. No to mention the time (hours of work)

It’s not a job Jim. It’s suppose to be fun and relaxing. Were sharing our projects with other members as a expression of our craft. I’ve entered dozens of projects in local and state fares just in the hope to win a ribbon and to see how I stand up to my fellow leather crafters. Just my opinion. – Nick
