 We are pleased to announce that the AC Transit Supplementary Service to schools will resume on Monday, August 9. Highlights of changes include:
- Lines 611, 621, 623, 624, 625, 631, 654, 657, 663, 667, 671, 675, 687, and 688, which were suspended during the pandemic, will be fully or partially restored. We revised schedules to accommodate changed bell times.
- For a list of all lines that serve your student’s school, visit the Supplementary Service to Schools page on the AC Transit website.
- Lines 614, 639, 651, 668, and 679 will be discontinued. Please use the information below for information about alternative service.
New schedules and line maps are being updated and will be posted on the AC Transit website shortly. Our full listing of bus line timetables is available online here or may be requested at the AC Transit Customer Service Center at 1600 Franklin Street in downtown Oakland. For specific questions, call (510) 891-4777, or use the online form.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, AC Transit has implemented several safety precautions, including free onboard face masks and hand sanitizer dispensers, anti-viral cleaning and sanitization of buses, and the installation of advanced air filters across our entire bus fleet. We’ve recently lifted physical distancing requirements and returned to pre-pandemic bus capacity limits. We also introduced a rider capacity feature used to share real-time information on web and mobile apps about how crowded the bus is so you can plan accordingly. Note: The federal mask mandate issued in January 2021 requires everyone to wear face coverings on public transportation. All AC Transit riders must wear face masks onboard and at bus stops at all times.
