After students have learned about factors that influence climate, such as Earth’s energy budget, greenhouse gases emissions and the impacts of climate change, they will have the knowledge base for this unit of study. Students will use NASA climate model data to analyze and evaluate future temperature projections up to the year 2100.

This curriculum unit of study has three lessons:

  • Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) Projection Scenarios
  • Using RStudio: Creating Temperature Projection Graphs for New York City
  • Using RStudio: Creating Temperature Projection Graphs for Cities Around the World

A pre- and post-unit assessment is included.
