Returns of immigrants from EU Member States

The European Union has announced its intention to create a new ecosystem with regard to returns of migrants. The Vice-President of the Commission, Margaritis Schinas, said: ‘Today's Strategy on voluntary returns and reintegration is another piece of that puzzle (...) and this strategy will develop a more uniform and coordinated approach among Member States to unlock their full potential’.

Given that the system aimed at relocating immigrants from Mediterranean countries to other countries has failed, it is very important to develop the return system and to assess the issue of voluntary removals.

Can the Commission say:

• 1.How many returns were carried out from EU countries in 2018, 2019 and 2020 to non-EU countries?
• 2.How many returns were carried out by Italy, France, Germany and Spain in the same years?
• 3.How many voluntary returns were carried out from EU countries in 2018, 2019 and 2020 to non-EU countries?
