Did Blazer star outrage cause Brown to backtrack lockdown?

On Tuesday, Portland Trail Blazers basketball player Damian Lillard tweeted about how upcoming Blazer basketball games would not have fans, and the Blazers would be one of the only teams in the NBA experiencing an empty court. Multnomah County, where the Moda Center is located, was recently placed in the “extreme risk” category for COVID-19 response and faced tighter restrictions.

Hours after the subliminal tweet, Gov. Kate Brown was trending on Twitter. Then she backtracked on the rules she instated just last week, moving the 15 counties at “extreme risk” to “high risk” by Friday this week. The new level includes loosened restrictions.
