The IRS hosts numerous virtual and in-person events each month. These information sessions and job fairs provide you with insights about some of the most interesting positions we offer. This page is updated periodically, so if you do not see an event/position that interests you, please check back. In-Person Hiring Events

        Washington, DC

        Accounting and Engineering positions

        The IRS is hiring for a variety of entry-level to senior-level positions for Washington, DC and the surrounding areas. We will be offering our Revenue Agent (all experience levels will be welcome!) and General Engineer (mid-career level) positions at this two-day hiring event. We will be reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and making offers on-the-spot to qualified individuals.           Contact Representatives (Bilingual-Spanish)

          Although this event is sold-out, walk-ins will be welcomed for customer service positions. However, before attending the event, we ask that you first upload your resume and transcripts (if applicable) by March 27th to the link below. This will allow us to review your resume and qualify you for the Contact Representative position before you arrive. An added benefit of being pre-qualified, is that you will receive expedited consideration, and this should cut the time you spend at the event in half!

          Taxpayer Support, Accounting, IT, and Management Positions

          In Puerto Rico, we will be hosting a separate two-day, in-person event for a variety of entry level to senior level to management level positions, such as, taxpayer support, IT, accounting, and management positions.                 The Large Business and International (LB&I) Division is hosting several virtual hiring event/information sessions for their unique senior-level Revenue Agents (GS-13 and GS-14positions for experienced accountants. These positions are being offered nationwide. During these virtual events, you'll hear from LB&I Hiring Managers and Employees discussing the different practice areas LB&I is responsible for and the specialized experience needed to be eligible for these positions.                     Virtual Information Sessions - Position Specific (Nationwide)

                    Estate & Gift Tax Specialist 

                    We're hosting a virtual information session about our unique and specialized Revenue Agents the Estate & Gift Tax Specialist. In this position, you will conduct examinations of Estate, Gift and Generation-Skipping Transfer tax returns; you'll rely on state and federal law to determine property rights, inclusion of assets and transfer of interests. During this session, you’ll hear from managers in the Field Exam Division of SB/SE talk about our Revenue Agent/Employment Tax Specialist positions and provide you a better understanding on what will be expected from you, day-to-day.                     Revenue Officer

                    We’re hosting a virtual information session about our Revenue Officer positions open in many locations nationwide. As a Revenue Officer, you will collect tax and secure delinquent tax returns from taxpayers who have not resolved their obligations in response to notices and correspondence.                     We are hosting a virtual information session about our Shared Administrative Associate positions. In this position, you will provide administrative, clerical, and case processing support to managers and technical employees. Your responsibilities will include planning, organizing, and carrying out a variety of administrative and clerical activities required by business operating divisions.                     Tax Examiners & Collection Contact Representatives 

                    The Small Business/Self Employed Division (SB/SE) is hosting a virtual information session about their Tax Examining Technicians and Collection Contact Representative positions. These positions provide technical assistance to individuals and businesses to help them understand and meet their tax responsibilities. They resolve all types of taxpayer correspondence and telephone inquiries with a wide variety of issues for both current and prior year accounts. During this event, you’ll hear from SB/SE managers discuss the job duties and how to qualify for these entry-level positions. They are a great way to start a career with purpose!                     Tax Specialist 

                    We’re hosting virtual information sessions about our entry-to-mid level Tax Specialist positions. As a Tax Specialist, you will audit various types of tax returns to determine tax liability of individual taxpayers, business, or corporations. You'll make determinations on liability for Federal taxes and investigate alleged criminal violations of Federal tax statutes.
