As a Financial Management Analyst you will:
Conducting systematic examinations and appraisals of customer financial documents; analyzes and evaluates ongoing customer expenditures to ensure timely obligations occur in conjunction with anticipated customer budget forecasts; reviews and assesses continual changes in customer program plans and funding and their effect on financial and budget program milestones related to GSA activities; and works with customer financial personnel, as necessary, to recommend fiscal adjustments based on personal analysis and findings of financial and budgetary relationships for financial actions that are time sensitive or otherwise in need of modifications in accordance with established auditing practices and protocols.
Reviewing and analyzing GSA financial policies and practices. As requested provides advice and counsel to GSA operating officials on financial matters. Performs specialized tasks, studies and/or projects, as assigned, with respect to the development and implementation of financial management. Provides recommendations regarding financial strategies and/or procedural changes designed to improve existing financial reporting and evaluation systems.

The GS-12 salary range starts at $77,501.00 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial and accounting practices and procedures and the ability to utilize automation tools in accomplishing the work. Such experience could have been gained in performing the following: rate development; budget formulation and execution; preparation of income and expenses analysis; preparing monthly financial statements utilizing accrual-based accounting; communicating financial data to program managers, working with program officials to understand and implement capital planning requirements; special financial and accounting projects; performing comprehensive financial audits of organizations; utilizing financial programs on personal computer to manipulate, arrange and expedite data; and writing policies procedures, guidelines and referral papers on financial and accounting matters.
