Workers at Kadlec to Host Informational Picket Line Over Unfair Wages and Turnover Issue

RICHLAND, Wash. -- After two contract extensions and multiple bargaining sessions, workers at Kadlec are planning to host an informational picket line.

The picket line will be Tuesday, May 28 at the Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., the rally will begin at 5 p.m. located at 888 Swift Avenue.

Kadlec's Freestanding Emergency Room in Kennewick will be rallying from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. located at 3290 West 19th Avenue.

Kadlec staff said workers at Providence's (Kadlec's parent company) Kadlec Regional Hospital in Richland and its freestanding Emergency Room in Kennewick are not paid equally or fairly in comparison to its Swedish Medical Center.

According to staff there is a severe lack of competitive wages which as cause an increase in staff turnover, ultimately compromising the quality of care patients are receiving.
