More businesses to reopen as Placer County enters Stage 3

Following the release of additional guidance from the California Department of Public Health last Friday, additional businesses and activities from Stages 2 and 3 may reopen in Placer County starting June 12, as discussed at this week's Board of Supervisors meeting. The board plans to send a letter to the state seeking additional Stage 3 guidance to reopen even more businesses and Placer County’s health officer shared an update about recent COVID-19 case increases. Read more

CAL FIRE suspends burn permits in Placer County

The increasing fire danger posed by dead grass and hotter, drier conditions is prompting CAL FIRE to suspend all burn permits for outdoor residential burning within the state responsibility area of Nevada, Yuba and Placer counties. The suspension takes effect 8 a.m. Monday, June 15. Learn more

Middle Fork American River Project extended 40 years

Placer County Water Agency and Placer County announced this week that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has issued a new 40-year operating license for the Middle Fork American River Project. The project provides water supplies, clean hydroelectric power, public recreational opportunities and environmental stewardship for the people of Placer County and the region. Learn more
